okok. very very long never blog liaoz.
actually, nothing much happened also.

haha. went to watch lion king some day last week. IT IS A SUPERB MUSICAL. seeing the animals on stage made me remember my childhood days. alot of effort were put on the props. all the diferent animals were made to inject life into the show. and the baboon, rafiki was damn good. her acting/singing/ rambling was wonderful. the other one was the bird, zazook. the bird had sooo much energy juz like the one in the movie. wads impressive was that every minute detail from the movie was captured in the show.

the prop i liked best was when simba looked into the puddle of water looking at his reflection. then, they portrayed his father's face in the background and it is 3D and they made sure that the face changed alittle due to the presence of water. it was so damn cool.

the singing was abit of a let down though and the young simba n big simba seem to be different lions altogether.

but all in all,i would gve it a 8/10! wonderful!
next musical i wanna watch:- phantom and sound of music!

Tuesday, November 21, 2006:milan!
yippee... went to milan for a short weekend trip.

it is damn tiring lahh. cos we left our hall at 1plus am, taking the coach at 2 plus. din manage to catch a good sleep and we reached milan in the morning.

me, keng seng, haojun, astee, edwin and tingjun separated from the rest and we went to venture ourselves. my 1st impression of the place is that it is quite dirty. the buildings seem too old for my liking. graffitti is on everywhere. anyway, we went to the centralpart of milan. there was this big open area. we went through it and we were conned of 5 euroes. there were these 2 guys who came to us. this man shoved bird seeds into my face but i just stood there, not wanting to take them. then he went over to tingjun grabbed his hands and put some seeds onto his hands. this attracted the pigeons and they just flew to tingjun's hand. it was a lovely sight i must say. then we thought they are so friendly, so each of us went to do the same thing. after that, he demanded 5 euroes from each of us. damn!

but anyway, milan is not a place for those who want to go shopping. it is super high end. in the end, i only bought souvenirs. oh, we went to San Siro where the biggest stadium of Italy is. it houses AC milan and InterMilan. so cool! too bad that day got match so we could not go for a tour in the stadium.

the italian's food portion is super small as compared to london. no wonder italians are all so skinny and pretty.

we went to the museum of science and technology by leonardo da vinci. he is a cool cool guy lahh. he spent his life drawing alot of things from the science to the arts. and after looking at THE LAST SUPPER portrait, i must really kowtow to dan brown because he can really use his imagination to create a story out of the picture and it is fictitious.

all in all,it is a good trip. more of sightseeing than shopping.
shall post pics in time to come. :)
ciao

!@#$%^&*&^%%%$$$###@@!!!!

me is pissed off! by programming again!!!

this time round, i saw the instruction, i was really scratching my head. i thought it would be very difficult to do the commands and the language to get what i wanted. n this maths genius could do it! i asked him how he derived those computer language to go about doing it, he said "ermmm, how to explain... just think lor". dotz!

i scratched my head so hard my head almost bleed. i think until all my brain cells have evaporated. Out of desperation, I asked the maple supervisor telling him i dont understand the instructions. haha. then lo and behold, after he explained, the last sentence that he said was,"then solve your answer by hand" seriously, wtf! i just stared at him and i sort of shouted 'by HANNND? and not by maple?" he was taken aback and he said,"well, you cannnn...."

arrrgggghhhh.... irritating. now the project is sooooo easy.

Thursday, November 16, 2006:borat
after school yesterday, we went to leicester square to watch the movie BORAT. I am very sure Singapore doesnt screen the movie at all. i shall explain why later.

the cost of movies is totally insane! for an adult ticket, it cost 35 sing dollars. student price is29 singapore dollars. since me, astee, ks n haojun have orange phone plans. we enjoy a 2 for 1 movie price on wednesdays, which is why we went to watch yesterday. It amounted to 18 singapore dollars. elaine was there too. BUT during the show, the fire alarm rang. the movie was stopped halfway. and after everything was settled down, we went back in with a FREE TICKET to watch any show at any time! so cool! so it is majiam like we watch 2 weekend movies in singapore. shiok! this kinda thing really once in a blue moon when the moon is really blue man.

okok back to the show. It is an American production to laugh at America. It pokes fun at almost everything. It is about this guy named, Borat. He comes from this rural country. First, he made racist remarks against Jews and saying that the gals in the country are all prostitutes and the males are all dominant.

then he went to america. the movie behaved like a documentary and from then on, he poked fun on everything. he went to this meeting with the feminist actions, and he argued with them saying women's brains have the size of squirrels' brains, or smth lidat. he went for this class learning american jokes, which in fact he mocked at the american jokes. he made racist remarks about indians and he mimicked the way the black americans talked and behaved. in the show, he fell in love with pamela anderson when he was watching Baywatch. Then, he got devastated after watching a porn video where she was in. Borat had a fine dining lesson and it is just soo funny. cos he was taught to talk to people around his vicinity over dinner but in the end he talked to everyone. In his hometown, retards are ostracized. however, over dinner, this guy was telling him that he retired. and borat kept on blasting that he was a retard! cos the 2 words sound similar.

the documentary went on to show the gay's pride day in america and being gullible, he was tricked into having sex. ahahha. there was this scene also where his friend was masturbating with the baywatch magazine in his hand. YES, they showed him doing that. and Borat n that friend fought in such a way until they were both naked in hotel room and fighting scenes was hilarious. cos in the end, they were fighting in both anal and 69 positions. and after which, they chased each other around in the whole hotel much to the horror of other guests.

and borat sang the american anthemn wif the lyrics totally changed in the presence of soooo many americans and he was blasting bush with iraq. (so not surprising)

the amazing part of the show was that i think, most of the parts were impromtu in the sense that they really arranged a meeting with the feminist group for example to see their reactions. the show has parts which showed the reaction of the americans when borat did something funny or stupid. and poor pamela anderson fleed all the way when borat tried to cover her in a sack, where he said is a wedding sack.

oh, and he talked abit about christianity too! he went into this worship session. he asked the pastor, "does jesus like me?" and "does jesus like my neighbour?" a typical christian will always say jesus likes everyone. and of cos the pastor said that. then borat said, "but no one likes my neighbour!" arrghh, he juz makes fun of everything.

and the movie is rated 15 here, meaning all aged above 15 are allowed to watch. but in singapore, i think after it is gone through the sensors, the remaining show will have probably 3min screen time with nothing left. but as a singaporean, i feel that ya it is quite bad but maybe a r21 rating should be given to this show.

Tuesday, November 14, 2006:dearest encik
-one minute silence-

this entry is dedicated to my beloved encik. he was my company sergeant major. can still the remember the days in mandai hill camp with him. he is such a happy-go-lucky person knows every single way to chao keng. but he is very nice to us, sometimes teaching us to chao keng oso. hahaha. his stand-by areas/beds were reasonable and he always thought of welfare for us.

can still remembered the 1st time i did my COS duty. it was after a long time since he came back to work. i got alot of rubbish from him and i almost signed 3 extras from him but luckily my sergeants intervened. i hated him then but after that when i got to know him better, he was actually such a nice person. who can forget the day when he bickered with master mary in the store and everyone was just looking at them?

he helped us to block off the evil powers from the top. even though his reputation from above wasnt very good, he could not be bothered. the last time i saw him was the day when i ord-ed. he was so happy then. talking so much cock to us. we din give him any problem also. and to think 7 months later, this has to happen.

now that i am in london, i cannot do anything also. haizzz. life is so unpredictable. on this day, different people led different lives. babies are born, birthdays celebrated, tests passed, weddings are taken place, blah blah, yet there are others who cried on this day, lost someone, cheated by someone, felt depressed etc....

please cherish ur life no matter what. dun pain the people around you.

went to nottingham on saturday for the singapore society nottingham games. me n kengseng took part in the badminton doubles. so funny. cos we din even practise. 1st, we dun have any racket and 2nd to book the court to practise is 7pounds per hour lah. seriously, imperial likes to take money from us from all kinds of activities or opportunities available. haha.
anyway, went to lilywhites AGAIN! to buy the rackets 2 days before. ahhaha. n off we go to nott to compete. ahhaha. the 1st game was damn funny lor cos it was tactics against strength. they were too stumped by our tactics, damn funny. but we lost 11-15 lah. not too bad. haa. 2nd round we won cos of walkover. ahahah. n our 3rd round, we lost to the overall 2nd place team 0-15! muahahha. one of them is school player lo. he juz smashed all our shots. haizzz. den we purposely stayed behind to watch the 1st group which played wif us to be trashed by them 0-15 too! ahahha. never mind next yr, we can always try again. hahahah.

Thursday, November 09, 2006:volunteering
wahh.

i like the smirks given by the lecturers when they issue out problem sheets/coursework assignments/dates for tests. juz SO feel like slapping them. hhahaha. it is a never-ending cycle. just when i thought i have finished my problem sheets and the wonderul programming project, more sheets come in and a new programming project will be issued to me tomorrow at 3pm. haiz. so great! cant wait for term to end. hahaha.

anyway, today was the 1st time the 7 moe scholars from imperial went down to a primary school at battersea to help mentor/tutor. sacred heart primary is a catholic school. when we are just outside the school, some of the kids who were having breaks and playing saw us and started to make racist remarks. they were saying things like 'ching-ching-chong-chong' whatever that means.

i dunno about the rest but suddenly, it dawned onto me that i was bringing trouble to myself. i should not even bother to volunteer my wed afternoons for such stuff. i dunno how to handle the students or the racist remarks if any when i enter the class.

BUT all my worries were uncalled for. cos the class that we (me, kengseng, haojun, astee) went into, the students are all damn cute! and they were having an art class. seeing the children misbehaving, talking, listening to teacher, volunteering to do stuff is juz so nice. i was grinning from ear to ear for the whole session. i plopped myself down to this small group of 4 and help them with their art. martin was super shy and dunno wad to do. but when i asked him to cotribute, he juz did the work silently. the other1 nicholas was quite talkative and he asked me lots of questions and he said i LOOK LIKE 14! hahahha. jordan is art-inclined and took charge of the whole thing. this gal, katrina was so bubbly and cheerful. the kids just brightened up my day man.

i have to say that the teacher is SUPER PRO. she can control the class really well and the kids were quite scared of her. i think the 1st lesson with a new bunch of students either make or break it lo. i will try to be fierce on the 1st day of my teaching career. ahhahaha. but seriously, i can see the amount of energy being sapped out of the teacher lo. PRO! kowtow to her...

Monday, November 06, 2006:shopping spree
there was 1 thing i forgot to blog about last night. keng seng was looking for medicine for haojun in some departmental store called BOOTS. den i was looking around. i saw this booklet encouraging people to start a family. in the booklet, there was this column of "tips". the 1st tip: have sex 2 or 3 times a week. this increases the chance of pregancy.( something to the extent) hmmm.... den y not have sex every day? doesnt it increase the probability even more? hahahah.

today went to hillsongs church again. like the worship as usual. but the sermon has been evangelical so far so i think it is quite sian. dun think christians can grow spiritually in there. but then again who am i to judge... going there again lah but if the sermon continues to be in this direction, i may switch church lo.

after church, met up with elaine to shop around bond street and regent street. oxford circus is like orchard of singapore. i got a rude shock the last few days cos the weather turned really cold. i need a pair of gloves badly. SO, i went to buy a pair of gloves, a beanie and yes, another scarf from topman. then, i wanted to buy a winter jacket too. den got 1 for 35pounds. not too bad. n i got another wolly pullover kind. i spent so much today, but guess i need it for incoming winter lah. =) i can sense my father shaking his head if he sees this, then he will say, "if u really need it, then buy lo" hahah. he always does that when i am buying stuff. hahaha.

oh then just now, keng seng wanted to bake a cake for jiaxuan cos his bdae was just over. he saw the recipe wrongly. the instructions gave the temperature in Farenheit but he thought it was Celsius. hahah. den the top layer got chao-daed. hahaha. then keng seng was so sad. dun be sad lah!! for 1st try, it is not bad liaoz. we ate the bottom layer lo. not bad. =)

arrghh, school starts tomorrow again! hahah. so sian.going to do work now.
Ciaoz

Sunday, November 05, 2006:normal grandmother's age!!
HAPPY GUY FAKWES DAY!
( think i spell wrongly... haha)

anyway, for those who watched v for vendetta, yup tomorrow is celebrated cos of the successful operation is preventing this guy from bombing. but in the show, the bomb did take place lah. "remember, remember, the 5th of november". and this day every year, fireworks will be put up as a form of celebration. was just thinking, singapore can celebrate also wad. maybe organise something outside yishun mrt station. heez.

went to eat the four seasons restaurant's duck again. me, astee and keng seng. it was a last minute thing and more of to settle our dinner. hahaha. midway during dinner, 3 guys sat at the table beside us. i found 1 of them damn familiar but up till now i still cannot recall. keng seng saw this tee shirt that the other guy was wearing and we know they are singaporeans also. cos the tee shirt states RSAF. ahhaha. we sort of hear their conversation cos we were sitting really close. they took photos of the food before they started eating. (soooo singaporean... ahhha) but the funny thing was they were commenting about grandmothers. 1 of them asked "how old is your grandmother?" the reply was "NORMAL GRANDMOTHER AGE LO". i almost choked on my orange. i thought he was trying to be lame but they were serious in the conversation. i almost burst out laughing. hahaha.

the weather here is soooo unpredictable. suddenly, it becomes really cold, especially at night. i need a pair of gloves SOON!

oh btw, i gave up on my programming le. as in cos the project given to us. 90% of it is really easy and i did it with ease. but the 10% i thought like mad. could solve abit more than half of it. as of last night, i gave up le. no point thinking so hard for the 3-5 marks. lolx. my homework is piling cos of it also. the remaining part that i was not sure was asking me to find values of a and b. i gave them 1 formula linking constants a and b and then the next line i wrote "regretfully, i am unable to find values of a and b" =)

Thursday, November 02, 2006:i love programming
wanted to sleep in 30min time.
wanted to see the light in my programming. but there is no sight of the light yet.

so decided to blog.
hahaha.

to gy, u noe something? actually i have the same thought as you! haha. as i was writing my last few entries, somehow i felt like i was writing a journal to be handed in to the teacher. dunno y oso. maybe cos i want to share my joy and my experiences.

BUT then again, define "darius-ness". i have been thinking about it for quite sometime while doing my farking programming. i started the blog during the army. i slammed people; i was lame and corny; i poured out alot of my emotions over many many things. guess i am not doing alot now.

Y? dunno leh. cos maybe army got more juicy things to write about? hahaha... n i am having more inertia to blog now NOT BECAUSE I HAVE MORE MASS. haha. i was even looking through entries from the past to look for the "darius-ness". hahaha.

hmmm... i duwan my blog to be i-did-this-fullstop kind but to portray more about myself too. hahaha. well, i ll try.

ANYWAY, yesterday was the 1st haloween that i ever encountered. the idea is quite dumb lah. the singapore society came together to watch the movie-the exorcist. the girls were damn scared lo. the show is not scary-scary but more of gross-scary i think. but the funny thing is kengseng, haojun and me put on mascara and flour on our face. during the movie itself, we managed to scare elaine and astee. hahahha. i played the exorcism music and stuck out my face on the table then the other 2 stuck out theirs too. and the girls juz screamed. suddenly, felt like i was in primary school trying to scare people. but wait, i have never scared people before too lo. hahaha.

and we even bought krispy kremes beforehand to appease (u know like juz in case) the girls. then when i came back to my hall, they are scaring one another too lah. i juz went into my room to do my work. haha. i could even hear screams and plates crashing. halloween is juz a waste of pumpkins lo. (and mascara, tsk tsk)

oh ya, thank u to ks, hj and astee! i m really touched. cos their dinners are catered and mine isnt. then they have smuggled chocolate eclairs out of the dining hall for me for at least 3 times le. hahaha. :) remember got once astee waited outside my hall until someone opened the door and she came in just to pass me the eclair. hahaha.

okok me going to sleep le. tomorrow i shall conquer the stupid programming. dun believe i darius tan cannot do it. :)

arrggghhhh. i hate the fire doors in my hall. they are damn heavy. n my room is beside the kitchen. y do people still go into the kitchen at 1am in the morning and slamming the door and BE SO INCONSIDERATE? your hands are supposed to hold onto the door before it slams! then in the mornings, i am not woken up by my alarm clock but by the stupid door! great job!
